10 Easy Crochet Hats for Winter
Life update: I got married! Happy to say that we’re not tired of each other yet, but I’m excited to be back home and somewhat settled in… at least enough to finally start writing posts and making patterns again. With graduation, moving from CA to MT, the wedding, and the honeymoon, finding time to even unpack my crochet has been a struggle! My fingers have definitely been twitching to get crocheting again and one thing that has got me inspired to start up again (because we all know it’s not the three projects I already have going right now…) is crochet hats!
Maybe it’s just me… but I have such a hard time sticking to one big project without sneaking in some little ones on the side. While I appreciate seeing a huge crochet project come together, my journey to the end always has a couple B-plots and detours mixed in. Something about having those small projects in there to break up the big one really helps me avoid losing my “crojo” or “crochet mojo”.
One of my favorite quick and easy crochet projects, besides my crochet preemie octopus, is making hats! Especially up here in Montana, it seems like you can’t go a day in fall or winter without seeing someone wearing a nice warm beanie! When my mother-in-law mentioned there’s a yearly craft fair up here in the fall, I was sold. I must start making hats for next year’s fair immediately.
Luckily, JoAnn’s heard my plea and I am now on a desperate search for some quick and easy crochet hat patterns. I have created my own Forest Sprite Beanie in the past, but as mentioned, I don’t want to burn out by just crocheting the same thing all year long, so I thought I’d bring you along on my quest towards finding some fun and easy crochet hats that you can make too! Let’s take a look!
